FIA all set to ‘arrest’ Tarin in coming weeks

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has decided to arrest former finance minister Shaukat Tarin after completing an investigation into his alleged anti-government audio leak.

The FIA sent a letter to the Ministry of Interior regarding the conclusion of the investigation and further action against a key member of Imran Khan’s finance team.

Additionally, it has provided the ministry with the investigation report.

It is important to note that on September 22, 2022, an alleged audio clip of the former finance minister Shaukat Tarin was leaked. In it, he was allegedly heard talking separately to Mohsin Leghari, the finance minister of Punjab at the time, and Taimur Khan Jhagra, the minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

In the alleged audio call, the two ministers were given advice on how to respond to the federal government in light of the IMF deal by a voice that was said to be Tarin.
