Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Commission(KPIC) and Blue Veins signs MOU to aware the marginalized community regarding the benefits of RTI Law.
Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Commission (KPIC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Blue Veins, a non-governmental organization today (November 23, 2023) with a view to assisting the KPIC by extending cooperation to ensure free flow of information especially amongst the marginalized community i.e. transgender, minorities and women in line with the Right to Information Act, 2013.
Mrs. Farah Hamid Khan, Chief Information Commissioner,KP Information Commission (KPIC) and Mr. Qamar Naseem, Director Blue Veins, signed the MOU on behalf of their respective organizations.
Secretary KPIC, Mr. Anees Ur Rehman, Deputy Director Communication, KPIC, Sayed Saadat Jahan, Deputy Registrar KPIC Nazim Shahab Qamar, Deputy Director IT, KPIC Muhammad Tahir and Noor Said, Administrative Officer, KPIC, Zartasha Abid, Monitoring & Evaluation Officer, Blue Veins, and Ayub Khan, Liaison Officer, Blue Veins were present on the occasion.
Under the MoU, the KPIC will work together with the Blue Veins to disseminate public awareness messages on right to information through installation of standees, airing of documentaries on RTI, projection of RTI through social media platforms and arrangement of trainings, seminars, workshops on RTI in the targeted districts of KP i.e. Kurram, Mardan, Peshawar, Haripur, Nowshera, Charsadda, Swabi, Chitral, Dir Lower, DI Khan, Khyber,and Malakand. Besides this, Special messages through hangers is sponsored by Blue Veins. Moreover, Blue Veins will support the Commission for holding meetings with other partners so as to spread the message of RTI through every nook and corner of the province.
Both parties expect that free flow of information will help ensure transparent and accountable governance, which will lead to empowerment of the people in KP.
