Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jilani (R.A) was an eminent Scholar, preacher, Jurist, theologian & mystic. He was born on 29 Shabban around 1077 in jilan, Iran. The Honorable Sheikh is noted for his extraordinary spiritual experiences and achievements as well as his enlightening sayings and life-changing teachings.
The Noble Sheikh Showed extraordinary qualities since his childhood. His mother was a pious lady who always encouraged him to remain truthful in all circumstances. The famous incident regarding the leader of bandits who repented at his hand was the outcome of his honesty & truthfulness that his mother instilled within him.
The blessed Sheikh was around 5 years old when the madrasa in jillan become his first cradle of knowledge. He was 8 years old when he headed to Baghdad, the centre of religious learning in the world of Islam.
He studied traditional sciences under sheikh Hammad bin Muslim Ad Dabbaas (R.A) in madrassa nizamiya the most prestigious and world- renowned educational institution of the time and attained extraordinary merit in fiqa (Jurisprudence), Tafsir ( Commentary of the Quran) Sunnah and Hadith ( Traditions of the Prophet PBUH) as well as Arabic Literature.
His quest for spiritual knowledge followed his academic pursuit. Sheikh abbu sayeed Al mukharrami (may Allah be well blessed with him) one of the greatest Sheikhs of Baghdad, taught him the subtleties of the spiritual path, Once he Acquired both academic and Spiritual knowledge, the honorable Sheikh spent years in seclusion.
For 25th Years, I Roamed the jungles of Iraq.
After this long period of solitude, the Reviver of Religion returned to Baghdad where he started inviting people to the way of the Lord through his timeless sermons. Sheikh abbu sayeed Al-mukharrami (R.A) placed his little schoolhouse at the Sheikh’s disposal where he gave all his sermons that left a powerful impact on the listeners. The number of attendants continued to grow and the schoolhouse was eventually enlarged. Countless non-Muslims accepted Islam at his hand while thousands of Muslim received outward and inward guidance through him.
The blessed Sheikh ( May Allah be well Pleased with him) passed on to the Realm of Divine Beauty in 1166. His mausoleum in Iraq is visited by thousands of visitors till today.
In many parts of the world people distribute food in his honor particularly on 11th of every Islamic month, which is also his death anniversary. The Honorable and sanctified Sheikh said.
“Feeding People is Among the Best things a man can do”.
“Anyone Who Seeks Allah will Surely Find Him”.
