Upper Kohistan bus-car collision kills 25

A bus carrying more than 40 passengers hit a car in Upper Kohistan area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and both vehicles fell into a gorge, killing 25 people.

The tragic accident has shaken Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to the core.

According to the police, the passenger bus was traveling on the Karakoram Highway between Gilgit and Rawalpindi. According to Diamer SP Sher Khan, a police team has removed 25 bodies from the vehicles, and 15 injured people have been transferred to a Chilas hospital.

The incident occurred close to Diamer’s Satiyal checkpoint. Police officers and locals are currently engaged in rescue efforts.

According to Tahir Iqbal, the chief of the Upper Kohistan district police, there were six people in the car, five of whom have died.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, on the other hand, expressed his sorrow over the accident. According to APP, he offered his condolences to the families of the deceased and prayed for them.

In addition, the premier prayed for the injured’s prompt recovery and instructed the concerned authorities to provide them with all available medical care.

Both PPP leader Asif Zardari and Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari expressed their sorrow for the tragic accident.

The families of the accident victims received condolences from the former president.

The minister has made sincere efforts to save the injured’s lives.
