The big cat was tranquilized after being shot, which took about half an hour to work.
Two members of the team, according to a wildlife official, were injured while attempting to capture the cheetah during the operation.
Three people had been injured earlier when the animal broke into a house that was still under construction.
The society’s security guard and two members of Islamabad’s wildlife board were said to be among the injured.
It was reported that the guard was in critical condition.
The locals had been told by the Islamabad Wildlife Management Board to stay away from the house.
Zukhruf Fida Malik, Assistant Commissioner for Rural Affairs, had also advised nearby residents to remain inside. He stated that teams from the Islamabad Capital Territory administration and the wildlife department were attempting to capture the wild cat.
The wildlife board said in a tweet that rescue teams were at the location and that the cheetah would be released back into its natural environment once it was rescued.
They claimed that they were working with a trapper to capture the animal.
Punjab wildlife officials and rescue personnel were assisting the board in the rescue mission.
