Beyonce breaks Grammy record for most wins ever

Beyonce on Sunday broke the record for the most Grammy wins of any artist, scoring her 32nd prize ever and fourth of the night to resounding applause.

She beat the late classical conductor Georg Solti, who had 31 awards, to the title by winning the Grammy for Best Dance/Electronic Music Album for her smash hit Renaissance.

I’m trying to keep my emotions to a minimum. And I’m trying to just receive this night,” Queen Bey said as her peers stood to honor the 41-year-old for her historic moment in a gown that hugged her curves and shimmered. Her hair was in mermaid waves.

Renaissance, Beyonce’s seventh solo studio album, is a sweaty, pulsating collection of club tracks that aims to liberate a world that is consumed by boredom.

Beyonce reached the top spot on Billboard’s top songs list for the first time in well over a decade with its summer release.

Renaissance features Beyonce’s ebullient vocals, but the song’s rhythmic, urgent call to the dance floor and the fusion of influences, which pay homage to pioneers of funk, soul, rap, house, and disco, stand out.

I would like to express my gratitude to my parents—my father and mother—for loving me and pushing me. She told the audience at the Los Angeles gala, “I’d like to thank my beautiful husband and my beautiful three children who are at home watching.”

“I’d like to express my gratitude to the queer community for your love and the invention of this genre.”

Later on Sunday, Beyonce was still up for several awards, including song, album, and record of the year.
