According to a Japanese media organization, Japan plans to launch an H2A rocket in January which had a government intelligence-gathering satellite.

According to the NHK, which cited unknown sources, the H2A rocket launch is scheduled to take place on January 11 next year from the Tanigashima Space Center in Kagoshima Prefecture in the southwest.

The rocket will carry an optical satellite capable of capturing global images from hundreds of kilometers above the ground، This will allow surveillance of missile launch sites in North Korea and estimates of damage caused by natural disasters.

There were fears that the failed launch of Japan’s new H3 rocket in March would affect the H2A mission, but the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) tightened controls, Testing the components of the rocket that were used in both models.

In September, an H2A rocket containing lunar probes was successfully launched.

H2A issues include costly launch costs and old infrastructure. After the final launch scheduled for the next financial year, it is expected that the financial year 2025 or later will be replaced by its successor, the H3 Rockets.

According to JAXA, the H2A rocket, also known as the H-IIA launch vehicle, Has been used as a reliable large size staple rocket since 2001 and is often used in space exploration and satellite launch missions.

In 2007, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries took over launch service operations, and JAXA was given responsibility for launch safety management، Which included ensuring that both the ground and the flight were safe.
