MQM-P asks ECP to overturn the results of the Karachi and Hyderabad LG polls.
The Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) has demanded that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) declare the results of the local government elections held in Karachi and Hyderabad null and void, calling the results that were delayed "suspicious."
Waseem Akhtar, a former mayor of Karachi, stated that the election body took five days to announce the results despite a turnout of five to seven percent.
Due to the serious attempts at rigging that were made during the polls, this clearly demonstrates that the outcomes of the election are suspicious; Added he.
The leader of the MQM-P made the prediction that there won’t be any disputes for the next four years if the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) bring a joint mayor.
He went on to say that if Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and JI bring a mayor together, The PPP will not permit them to work in peace.
