On PM’s orders, relief goods dispatched to Turkiye
On the instructions of the prime minister, a special plane carrying relief goods departed for Turkiye on Monday night.
The flight from Rawalpindi’s Chaklala airbase to the quake-affected areas will also include a C-130 aircraft carrying the army’s search and rescue team.
A PIA flight with 50 people and 15 tons of relief supplies will also depart for Turkiye on Tuesday morning. The mission will also feature a Rescue 1122 team.
Additionally, on Tuesday, another C-130 carrying aid will depart Lahore for Istanbul. The items included, among other things, blankets and camps to protect from the cold.
With 15 tonnes of relief supplies, daily PIA flights from Islamabad and Lahore will depart on Wednesday for Turkiye and Syria.
In addition, medical teams from the Health Ministry and the army will be sent to the two countries affected by the 7.6 earthquake, which has already killed more than 2,000 people.
Shehbaz will visit Turkiye On Wednesday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will visit Turkiye.
During his visit, Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari will be with PM Sharif.
To show his support for Turkiye in the wake of the earthquake, the prime minister is scheduled to travel there.
PM Sharif will also hold meetings in Ankara, the Turkish capital, during the trip.
