PM Shehbaz to pay solidarity visit to quake-hit Turkiye today
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will arrive in Turkiye today as a special gesture of solidarity and support with the Turkish people in the wake of massive earthquake.
The prime minister will meet with Turkey’s president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, during his two-day stay in Ankara to express his sincere condolences on behalf of the entire Pakistani nation for the numerous casualties and damage.
The prime minister will reaffirm Pakistan’s firm commitment to support the ongoing relief effort and to stand by the Turkish people during difficult times.
In addition, the prime minister will visit areas of southern Turkiye that have been affected by the earthquake, where he will interact with the Pakistani search and rescue teams that have been deployed there as well as earthquake survivors.
On February 6, in the wake of the devastating earthquake in southern Turkiye, the prime minister had a conversation with President Erdogan and assured him that all of the assistance that could be provided to the rescue and relief efforts would be provided.
The prime minister is personally overseeing the relief effort, which has been fully mobilized to assist the Turkish people.
Turkiye and Pakistan have strong ties to one another. The two nations have steadfastly supported one another through all of the difficulties.
