PSL 2023 taffic plan: These roads will be closed during matches in Karachi
KARACHI: Police announced on Monday a traffic diversion plan for the Pakistan Super League's (PSL) eighth edition matches — to be played at the National Bank Cricket Arena from February 14 to 26.
A statement from a police spokesperson stated, “A special traffic plan has been prepared for parking and alternative routes for cricket fans.”
Media representatives traveling from Karsaz should park their vehicles at the National Coaching Centre and China Ground on Sir Shah Suleman Road, via Habib Ibrahim Rehmatullah Road, Stadium Flyover, according to the details.
PSL 2023 transport strategy: A spokesperson also stated that journalists traveling from Millennium Mall should park their vehicles at the National Coaching Centre, China Ground on Sir Shah Sulaiman Road, on the right side of the stadium flyover, after passing through Stadium Road (Pir Sabghatullah Shah Rashidi Road). These roads will be closed during matches in Karachi.
In addition, journalists traveling from New Town should park their vehicles at the National Coaching Center, China Ground on Sir Shah Sulaiman Road, which is on the left side of Stadium Road (Pir Sabghatullah Shah Rashidi Road) following the Aga Khan Hospital.
Dalmia, near the Garib Nawaz Football Ground, has made parking arrangements for fans coming from various parts of Karachi. For parking, they will be required to present the match ticket and the original identity card. They will be transported to the National Stadium by shuttle service from the ground.
Stadium Road will not be accessible to vehicles coming from Liaquatabad No. 10, Hassan Square Bridge.
The spokesperson for the traffic police also mentioned that traffic will not be permitted to move toward the stadium from the Expo Centre turning on University Road, but that traffic will continue to move from Stadium Road to Hassan Square.
From the stadium signal to Hassan Square, heavy traffic of any kind will be unable to enter.
The official stated, “The public is asked to cooperate with law enforcement agencies and traffic police to avoid trouble.”
In addition, the spokesperson stated that citizens should adhere to the instructions and should not park cars or motorcycles on any service road or main road.
