You can now earn Bitcoin on your phone by playing old games.
The launch of two brand-new play-to-earn games, Bitcoin Chess and Bitcoin Scratch, a digital scratch-card game, has been announced by mobile game studio Viker and mobile payment company Zebedee.
By allowing players to earn small amounts of Bitcoin, or Satoshi, through mobile gaming, these games aim to bridge the gap between Web3 and mobile gaming.
Zebedee is a gaming infrastructure company that focuses on Bitcoin and released its first game in October 2019 via its mobile app.
The most recent additions to a series of games developed in collaboration with London-based Viker are Bitcoin Chess and Bitcoin Scratch.
Dan Beasley, co-founder of Viker, stated, “Implementing rewards with Zebedee’s platform is not about players earning money; it’s about creating a more interesting and fun experience.”
Players can now withdraw their earnings to the Zebedee app by entering their Zebedee account into Viker’s app, where both games are available on iOS and Android.
Players can anticipate earning a few cents per session, which Zebedee claims makes the concept sustainable despite the trading price of a single Bitcoin, which is well into the thousands of dollars.
This is not the first time that Zebedee and Viker have developed mobile solitaire and sudoku games that allow players to earn Bitcoin.
A private server for the first-person shooter game Counter-Strike: Global Offensive was also launched by Zebedee in 2019. Implementing an unofficial Bitcoin integration in Global Offensive.
