After finishing in the top three of Group 1 during the league stage of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa qualified directly, while England, India, and the West Indies also advanced from Group 2.

Pakistan qualified as the team ranked second in the ICC Women’s T20I Team Rankings as of February 27, 2023, while Bangladesh qualified as the tournament’s host for the ninth edition.

A Global Qualifier that will take place in the beginning of 2024 will be used to fill the remaining two spots. This tournament’s dates and locations have not yet been announced.

Sri Lanka and Ireland are the only teams from this year’s tournament that did not receive direct qualification. Sri Lanka is presently ranked eighth, while Ireland is ranked tenth.

It is important to note that Australia won the Women’s T20 World Cup for the sixth time on Sunday at Newlands, defeating South Africa by 19 runs.

Beth Mooney, the Australian opening batter, scored an unbeaten 74 to lead the 156-for-six score.

Despite opener Laura Wolvaardt hitting 61 off 48 balls, South Africa never reached the required run rate and were limited to 137 for six.

Mooney is of the opinion that Australia’s drive to win contributed to their victory in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 final.

“We want to keep winning as many competitions as possible. Mooney stated, “We don’t get tired of it.”

“I think we’ve seen in this tournament that there are teams around the world getting better and better as the years go by,” “Something we speak about as a group is making sure we’re always evolving along the way.”

“And we know that we are being hunted; people are looking at what we do and how we do it; therefore, it will undoubtedly not last forever,”

“However, we’ll enjoy it for as long as we can, and hopefully we can keep accumulating those trophies and enjoying our streak,” the team stated.
